Howe Park Shooting Results in Multiple Gunshot Victims in the Arden-Arcade Section of Sacramento County
Officials in Sacramento County are looking into a gunfire incident that took place on April 18 2026 at Howe Community Park in the Arden-Arcade area as law enforcement were shutting down a large unauthorized gathering of hundreds of attendees.
Background
Officers from the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office were first dispatched to Howe Park shortly before half past six in the evening after receiving reports of persons possibly in possession of concealed weapons. Following that, additional information came in about a possible physical fight breaking out at the location.
A sheriff's airship was sent to survey the area but was unable to locate the reported altercation. Despite this, it was evident that an enormous crowd had assembled at the park without permission.
When the Shots Rang Out

CSI personnel found further ballistic evidence in the form of shell casings on the Cottage Way roadway. Projectile impacts were noted in the wrought iron fence alongside the Home Depot. This ballistic evidence suggested that a second shooter had been firing southward from the Cottage Way area aimed at the Home Depot. That Home Depot location was locked down while the scene was active. Crime scene personnel remained on scene through the early morning hours.
Suspect Information
Reports confirmed over police scanner frequencies showed that a Kia vehicle had been detained in Solano County California. Four detainees were in the vehicle at the time of the stop. Sheriff's units were traveling to Solano County to return them to Sacramento for formal questioning. Surveillance footage established that there were two gunmen.
